About Etafuleni

A place at the table.

A table is where people meet as equals. Everyone brings something, and everyone has a place. Etafuleni grew out of that idea: a community that gathers around a table, and believes every person has skills, experience and dignity worth sharing.

This site extends that table to the wider community. It connects people who are looking for work with potential employers who need a hand.

The pilot

Starting small.

Etafuleni Job Seekers is a community pilot running for six to eight weeks. We’re learning as we go: what helps, what doesn’t, and what to build next.

We don’t promise jobs. What we offer is a place where people can be seen for what they can do, and where potential employers can find them.

How it works
  1. Share your experience. Typed or spoken, in your own words. A volunteer can help you on a Monday.
  2. We check your ID. A volunteer checks your ID or work permit before your profile goes live.
  3. Connect. Potential employers browse profiles, save favourites, and send an enquiry or make an offer.
What “verified” means
  • A volunteer has checked the person’s ID, or passport and work permit.
  • Profiles are visible only to signed-in, approved accounts.
  • Etafuleni doesn’t vouch for the quality of anyone’s work. Reviews come from the people a member has worked for.
What shapes us

“People will come from east and west and north and south, and will take their places at the feast in the kingdom of God.”

Luke 13:29

“And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.”

Micah 6:8
